The Horsley Women's Calendar  EXPOSED 2005

April 1994 On 7 April 1994 one of the most barbaric and sustained periods of killing in human history began. After what seemed an endless 100 days, an estimated one million people in the small central African republic of Rwanda had lost their lives.

The victims of this genocide were shot, beaten, blown up, burned or hacked to death. Their homes were destroyed as they were left dying in the road, in the fields and in their homes. Millions of people were left homeless, hundreds of thousands of women were widowed and children were left orphaned.

Countless thousands of women were infected with HIV/AIDS when they were raped as part of a sustained campaign to eliminate not only the women, but also future generations.
